- 3 x ROLLS-ROYCE FF-3001 FUSION TURBINE 131 kN of afterburning thrust
total.
- ASSORTED AUXILIARY MANEUVERING THRUSTERS

- 6.1m (without missile)
- WEIGHT:
- 12,000 kg empty.
- CARGO:
- Small compartment behind pilot's seat for personal belongings
- Delta V:
- 100 kps
WEAPON SYSTEMS:
- 4 x COLT E-19 4M5 MJ LASER CANNONS: Four laser cannons are mounted
around the central missile. The E-19 can fire up to 40 times in one minute.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault
- SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-Mecha
- RANGE: 1500 m
- DAMAGE: 4d6 for each single shot, 1d4*10 for each dual shot, or 2d4*10 for each
quad shot.
- RATE OF FIRE: Single shots equal to the combined attacks of the pilot.
- PAYLOAD: Effectively unlimited
- 2 x MHMR4 SHORT RANGE MISSILE LAUNCHERS: Two short range missile launchers
are on either side of the main fuselage. An armored cover flips up to reveal
four short range Hammerhead missile. Each launcher has four missiles in the ready,
with two reloads for a total of 24 missiles.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault/Defense
- SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-mecha
- RANGE: Varies
- DAMAGE: Varies
- RATE OF FIRE: One at a time or in volleys of two, four, or eight,
- PAYLOAD: 12 in each
- 1 x CBM-300 'STINGER' CLUSTER BOMB:
This large missile is uniqueto the Stinger design. Orginally, it was designed to
attack large groups of Zentraedi as the missile has a range of 25km and a payload of 300
self guiding cluster bombs each with a range of 500 meters. This gives the Stinger
an effective ordinance area of 1km.
- PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assault/Defense
- SECONDARY PURPOSE: Anti-mecha
- RANGE / SPEED: 4 km / Mach 1.7
- DAMAGE: Each cluster does 4d6 MDC
- RATE OF FIRE: One at a time
- PAYLOAD: One
- NOTES: To determine the number of cluster bombs going after a
single target. Divide the number of bomlets (300) by the total number of
targets with the effective blast radius (1.5 km). Consider that to be the number of
bomblets that will attack each target in a random spread.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR THE HORNET:
- AUTO-PILOT: The Hornet is equipped with a computerized auto-pilot, allowing the
pilot to relax or even sleep during long voyages. The auto- pilot can be programmed with a
single destination or a complex flight plan involving multiple speeds, directions, and
destinations. The onboard computer will alert the pilot when the fighter is near its
destination, and can also be set to automatically signal when sensors detect objects near
the fighter.
- COMBAT COMPUTER: The combat computer tracks and identifies specific enemy
targets, and has a database of over 2000 images stored in memory. The computer can
identify and track up to 250 targets simultaneously.
- LASER TARGETING SYSTEM: Range: 100 miles (160 km). Used for increased accuracy in
the striking of enemy targets and is partly responsible for the fighter's strike bonus.
- RADAR: 200 mile range.
- RADIO/VIDEO COMMUNICATION: Long range, directional communications system with
satellite relay capabilities. Range: 300 miles (960 km) or can be boosted indefinitely via
satellite relay.
- STANDARD SURVIVAL KIT: All Southern Cross fighters come equipped with a portable
survival kit. Inside the small reinforced box is a medium-sized flashlight, two hand
flares, one rocket flare, a compass, infrared distancing binoculars, a small mirror, a
pocket knife, dehydrated and concentrated food (can be stretched into a five day supply
for one person) and basic first aid items (aspirin, bandages, disinfectants, etc.)
- TACTICAL LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM: The Hornet cockpit is pressurized, and also
provides additional air feeds to the pilot's flight suit that provides him with
pressurized breathing. The SC flight suit also contains an upper and lower g-suit that
promotes blood circulation even during high-g turns, thus decreasing the possibility of
pilot's blacking out in combat.
- ELETTRONICA RADAR WARNING RECEIVER (RWR)
- OLDEFT INFRA-RED WARNING RECEIVER (IRWR)
- SELENIA SKY WARRIOR ACTIVE/PASSIVE SENSOR JAMMERS
- CHAFF AND FLARE DISPENSERS: 24 chaff and 24 flares
COMBAT BONUSES FOR HORNET TRAINING:
- 2 attacks per melee (plus those of the pilot).
- Add one additional action/attack at levels six and eleven.
- +1 to strike
- +2 to dodge with missile / +4 to dodge without missile
